Groundwater Resources Development Board (GWRDB), located at Babar Mahal, Kathmandu is responsible to carry out Ground Water exploration and exploitation activities through its 8 branch offices. Groundwater Branch Offices (GBOs) are located at Biratnagar, Lahan, Mahottari, Birgunj, Butwal, Dang, Nepalganj and Dhandadhi.

Eight GBOs are fully responsible for exploration; exploitation and Ground Water irrigation development work in 20 Terai / inner terai districts. The working districts of the GBOs are as follows.
